CLOUDS AND SUMMER STORMS

Clouds fascinate me, I guess they always have, constantly moving, altering the quality of the light, dancing across the skies above us and providing an ever changing backdrop to the horizon.
Whether fluffy white or brooding grey, clouds somehow give us a glimpse into the beauty and splendour of nature.

Summer Storm

How quickly the sky
Turned
From clear blue clarity
To dark brooding grey

Stark white gulls shone
Battling against the wind
A wind which had sprung
Seemingly from nowhere

Raindrops began to fall
Slowly at first
Fat raindrops
Not a gentle ‘pitter patter’
But with a splatter

Coating all in a cloak
Of welcome moisture
Damping down the dust
The temperature
Dropped noticeably
Quickly

Too quick for some
Caught out by
The summer storm
Soaked to the skin
We ran
Laughing
Rejoicing in natures’ glory
