Down on the farm

We spent a crisp dry spring afternoon down on the farm visiting the animals and then rounded off the visit with a delicious coffee and cake in the tea rooms, and, for the Mudhoppers, oh yes there was plenty of mud, plenty, plenty!

Down on the farm
What better way
Than to spend the afternoon
Of a cold clear spring day
Down on the farm
Feeding the chickens and fussing the pigs
Laughing as we splash through the mud
And later
Tucking into flapjacks and sipping cappuccinos
In the warmth of the cafe with the other visitors

We browsed the farm shop for delights
Free range eggs, wholemeal bread
Vegetables fresh from the ground
Pickles and jams and other treats abound
And best of all
Free samples of the local produce to taste
Smoke cured ham and spicy sausages
Exciting our taste buds, delicious

Surely there can be no better way
To spend such a day
Than down on the farm.

Yes, it's that time of year for more country walks, explorations and soon a return to the more esoteric side of life, so until the next time, keep well and happy landings.
