We did it, we really did it!

What a splendid show it was, the Gordon Craig Theatre really did us proud with the set up in the Ellen Terry Suite, excellent PA system, all set up, tables and chairs, bar open, everything we needed to put the show on, it was a trifle warm as the air conditioning in the whole of the Stevenage leisure centre complex had given up the ghost earlier in the day but they supplied us with air chillers and opened the patio / smoking area so anyone who needed to could escape and cool down.

It was a pleasure to see many old friends and Parnassus supporters among the paying guests and for the first half we had the pleasure of the Mayor & Mayoress of Stevenage in the audience.

This is more or less how the evening went:-

7:45 – 7:55             Mingle, drinks, settle down

7:55 - 8.10 Introduction to the evening and a poem or 2 - Grant

8.10 - 8.25            Graeme Lloyd

8.25 - 8.30            Francesca June

8.30 - 8.50            Smokin’ Dick Burns (Nick)

8.50 - 8.55            Grant
8.55 - 9.00            Francesca June

2nd half

9.30 - 9.45            Joy T Chance

9.45 - 10.00          Chris Ripple

10:00 - 10.05         Francesca June

10:05 – 10:10          Grant

10:10 – 10:25         J.S Watts

10:25 – 10:30         Francesca June  – Final song

10.30                    Grant  - Fare Thee Well, Send them home smiling!

Everyone did so incredibly well, it was a splendid show, everyone who stayed for the whole show seemed to enjoy the evening immensely and I, as organiser, wish to publicly thank everyone who took part, everyone who came along and everyone involved in the background, what a night, we did it and we did it good!

Cheers all

What's it all about? As part of this years Stevenage Festival Parnassus Performance, Stevenage's own troupe of poets, musicians and other arty people will be putting on a show called, Pencil Din.

So I am part of Parnassus Performance, Stevenage's own performance poetry group, we will be presenting an evening of new contemporary poetry with some music along the way to keep you all entertained, it's only a mere fiver to get in, it will be child friendly but under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.

This years show will be hosted by myself and will feature the likes of Chris Ripple, Joy T Chance, Smokin' Dick Burns, Graeme Lloyd and special guest JS Watts, music will be provided by the lovely Francesca June, we may even have another couple of Parnassus members along to do a floor spot or two.

This years show is dedicated to the memory of our recently departed and sadly missed, Murray Weston.

Please support us, we'd love to have a few 'bums on seats' for this show.
