It's been a long time since it was just the three original members of The Fellowship (Myself, Kevin and Chris) out together, with Fender of course and things were bound to get somewhat messy!
Saturday 29th April saw us off to Melbourn Rock Club once again to join in the 37th anniversary celebrations and of course Mo's birthday (After midnight!) and rock the night away with three excellent bands.
Camp Fellowship was soon established:-
Mo became a full member of the infamous Coronas:-
And so we were ready to rock, young St. Ives (That's the Cambridge St. Ives) band, False Hearts got everything off to a cracking start:-
They were followed by RGR Hendrix Experience who are superb and faithfully play the music of, well you can guess that I'm sure.
RGR Hendrix Experience
And so on to the might Pig Iron who were on magnificent form, they really are a top class band.
And so, the adventure unfurled:-
Ironing the Pig (Or JD what have you done to me?)
It was Melbourn Rock Club’s 37th anniversary
Playing host once more to Kevin, Chris and me
And of course to Fender in his den
Otherwise known as the little yellow caravan
Plus Chris’s tent which like the economy of our nation
Rose to glory with a little forced inflation
Two Jacks came with us which as you may see
May not have been a wise decision for the Fellowship three!
Lord Fender, surveyor of all
MRC were there of course
The Hatfield Rock Den were out in force
It was also fast approaching Mo’s birthday
Oh yes we’d all have fun this Saturday!
Mo was promoted to a full
And wore his shirt proudly as we remember
False Hearts hailing from
Played a blistering set I tell you no lies
One of the best young bands we’ve seen in a while
And the singer well, she had a lovely smile!
Emma and Fender
The RGR Hendrix Experience were simply sublime
They got the crowd dancing and singing in time
was flowing like water Wadsworth
We met the lovely Kate and Fin her lovely daughter
And other great new people as one tends to do
Several of whom would stay up late and party on too!
Pig Iron played an absolutely stunning set
Every time we seem them the better they seem to get
And here’s a spurious tip for when you’re out rocking
Tattoos cannot be removed by licking and sucking!
Fender had fun from atop of the speaker stack
And when he came down there was no looking back
After the gig we partied hard too
A right old laugh and the JD’s quite a few
Honey flowed in the little yellow caravan
As we put the world to rights talking man to man
Until seized by sleep, or maybe simply paralysed
We lay our heads down and closed our eyes
Awoken by Mo at half past eight because
There was a damn fine breakfast waiting cooked up by Toz
And Chris’s tent got somewhat deflated
Needless to say he was not exactly elated
Poor Martyn was blamed but of course it wasn’t down to him
I can now reveal it was all down to our very own Kevin
Chris was feeling somewhat deflated!
All in all another great evening and another great night
An amazing gig and FoTs party trucked along juts right
So until the next time
I wish you all well
I wish you all fine.
